RE: May 15 2008 CAI One Hour Board Meeting
Dear Julie:
It was a pleasure meeting you at our recent CAI-Long Island seminar. The presentation was terrific and has received rave review from the “critics.”
I hope our return trip was uneventful and that you’ll consider making the trip again for a follow-up appearance.
Very truly yours,

I left for Oregon shortly after your presentation here in Jacksonville but wanted to express to you how much fun and informative your presentation was to the NEFCAM group. Having been in the business also "forever" I completely enjoyed learning even more from you - love the part about "Immediate Communication". While giving you credit, I have used that ever since in my Board presentations under realistic expectations of Board members.
Your newsletter is great as well. Most (other newsletters) are so full of fluff that I don't take time to read them but yours is the exception. Thank you for all of your hard work on behalf of our industry...maybe one day we can call it a profession.

Dear Julie,
RE: NECAM Time Management 3.15.08
Yes, I am finding all the information provided very helpful, especially on micro-managing. Also, I want you to know that attending your seminar was a great moral booster. It was exactly what I needed, as I am one of the managers at the 4 ½ year burn out time frame. I was ready to give up, but after your great words of wisdom decided to hang in there. So, thank you again. I look forward to your return

RE: CVCAI Presentation 5.11.07
Thank you for your excellent presentation today at the CAI Breakfast. I have been attending these meetings for a little over a year, and I must say this was by far the most interesting, informative meeting I have attended. Not only was your information beneficial, but your style and personality made it enjoyable as well as educational. Again, thanks for sharing your talents and gifts with us, especially us new managers.

RE: CVCAI Presentation 5.11.07
The first CAI breakfast my new board member/president attended featured your presentation at Palm Valley today (5/11/07). Perfect way to start his Presidency at Chaparral.
He is very interested in obtaining a copy of your power point presentation from this meeting. Is there a cost? At your earliest convenience could you e-mail it to me. Additionally, he is interested in receiving your newsletters. I forwarded the most recent to him. Would you be so kind as to place his name on your e-mail list for future newsletters.

RE: Community Leadership Forum 2/07
This is just a short note to tell you how very much we all appreciated your participation in our 2007 Community Leadership Forum.
As you already know the event was a huge success and a very big share of the reason for that success was your interest, energy and expertise. Your topic was “right on point” and, as usual, skillfully delivered.

RE: Guest speaker Tucson CAI 1/07
Julie has presented to our membership several times over the past few years - mostly to conduct manager-only related presentations. Testimony to the fact that she always keeps it fresh and entertaining, she was invited back again a mere five months after a program that she didn't think was a hit, to present to a large group of board member volunteers and managers as the keynote speaker. The managers on the committee believed that Julie's experience and knowledge would equally benefit both segments of membership. They were right.
As a side note, upon my recommendation, Julie has been invited to present at two upcoming programs in the Carolinas."

I thought your presentation on time management was superb and have shared the basics with my staff. I know it was well-received. In fact, we now close the office to phones and visitors after 2:00 PM on Fridays so everyone can catch up from the week uninterrupted. Haven't gotten any client complaints and staff loves it - it you're done you can go regardless of the clock. Anyway, just wanted to say hello - it was a real pleasure to meet you and with the banter going on I found the exchanges refreshing. 12/22/06

Ms. Adamen,
I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation at Seven Lakes on Thursday and would greatly appreciate a copy of the Power Point presentation. I am blessed to be, though relatively “green”, an on – site condo manager on Marco Island’s spectacular beach. So I try to attend as many sessions like the one you facilitated as often as I can. The insight you offer is invaluable and having your notes on hand as a reference would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Good Morning Julie,
As I was sitting here browsing your website, I realized that I have been remiss in acknowledging all of the positive things you have afforded me over the years. You have given me invaluable advice from which I have followed and benefited (financially and professionally). I continually profit from the timely and thoughtful articles in HOA Manager NewsLine. Lastly, and certainly not least, your energy and active role at industry events is inspirational and uplifting. I do apologize for not communicating these feelings and thoughts at an earlier date; after all, “communication” is such a major aspect of what we do and a topic that you have emphasized incessantly.
Thank you for all that you do.

Dear Julie,
I am the facilities manager for a large HOA in Santa Fe, and was recently going for a job interview as the GM. When I read your article Top Traits of Great Managers I took it to heart and planned my interview around it. I had a very successful interview and feel confident about the results. Thanks for your help and I will let you know how I did.

Dear Julie, just a follow up on the article Top Traits of Great Managers. I E-mailed you a few weeks back about how I used your article to prepare for a job interview for a General Manager position. Well, I got the job and the feedback I got was that I blew them away in the interview. I went in confident that I could show my Board and Selection Committee that I was the person for the job and that I would be a Great Manager. Thanks

Julie:
Just received your new newsletter yesterday. Great job! Thanks! Just like Playboy, I liked it for the articles. I thought the interview article had a lot of good tips and the turnover piece was excellent food for thought. My favorite, though, was the integrity piece. Affirmation is good for the soul.

Julie, I cannot thank you enough for coming out to NC to participate in our conference. Your presence certainly elevated the caliber of our event. The feedback that I have received so far has been extremely positive. You certainly started the conference off on the right track at our networking luncheon. I know both managers and vendors appreciated your frankness and humor during the Q & A session. Managers thoroughly enjoyed your session "Professionalism-Getting There, Being There, Staying There". The CEO's enjoyed hearing of industry trends and tips at your "Profitability" session. I know they walked away with some great information and some thought provoking ideas.

One of the best speakers listened to; Love her!; intrinsic, helpful basics: outstanding speaker; general to HOA managers; good communicator; inspiring!; great enthusiasm & positive attitude; this speaker would be better without powerpoint!. very good, enjoyable but had a problem with time on this topic at the meeting i.e. How to get boards to give up developer docs after 20 years!; funny! Motivational speaker; motivated; great speaker; some lines were questionable: she was funny but she underestimates women; said when introducing Glenn “hisself”; somewhat amusing I don’t believe it was German; very fun; too much in appropriate comments; excellent presentation; 100% lively + stimulated; had jokes; unnecessary topic; ok; the best so far very dynamic!; excellent speech. very motivational perfect speaker to follow lunch; what a hoot!; great energy!; interesting as possible, invigorating; excellent; need to ask if people are taking the classes to get CACM or PCAM — not just if they already have that certification!; good after lunch speaker; great job; turn her volume down; good pep talk needed; very entertaining, engaging and inspiring; great speaker; very fun; excellent job keeping audience attention; funny uplifting, informative; powerful delivery; moved quickly hut did not skip a beat; great; you’re inspirational; loved the pep-talk & jokes; please never change very professional.
Thank you again for your sharing your expertise. We look forward to seeing you at future industry events. Sincerely,

It was great to see you in New Orleans at CAI’s Community Leadership Forum. Thank you for taking time out of your busy conference schedule to speak with our Chapter Executive Directors. I both enjoyed and benefited from attending your recent session in Tucson, "The Dumb Things that Boards Do: Eight Pitfalls of Community Management". I would like to take you up on your offer to Email copies of the slides that you used during your presentation. Much of what you covered will be most beneficial to our new HOA board as we transition from Declarant-controlled to homeowner-controlled.

Dear Julie:
I am writing you to formally thank you for the privilege of having met you. Since our first email and eventual “phone chat”, you have put a highlight in both my enthusiasm and encouragement as I embark on my introduction to Property Management as a career. I have just recently accepted an entry position as an Assistant Association Manager. This is inline with my goal for training and learning under an experienced Association Manager. As you and I had discussed, this position , while entry level by standards, will at least make possible the more immediate goal of Portfolio Manager within a nominal time of training. And, while not a direct presentation from Adamen, Inc., I have learned quickly in this business, that this is a highly transient influence so, I am positive you and I will be engaged in further possibilities of “placements” of my talents in the months preceding. I thank you again!
I also, especially want to thank you for introducing me to Jim Manning. Jim is very personable and exudes a high degree of professional wisdom and presence. If there are premier- level- role- models of this industry to elect, then I elect you and Jim! I have read some 9 Articles (thus far)off your website Julie, and I must say, I have already “learned” much just in ethics, politics and more importantly, expectations of this JOB. Your articles are “Chock-Full” of lessons and simple “down to earth” common sense applications. And, most of all, its free!
I am going to study, learn and apply what I have read and before very long, I will be “credentialed” to command the interest of this industry and you will be the igniting force to my continued launch into Site Manager and… beyond(?) You and Jim have shown me the utmost concern of my goals with this industry and our relationship in this effort will be ongoing.
Sincerely,
Loren Fisk

Hi Julie,
Remember when we were looking for a new GM and I told you I wanted the Mary Poppins of Manager's to just appear at our front gate? Well, I have not seen Dean flying with an umbrella and I have not yet heard him sing--but he's everything I hoped for. The Board certainly made the right decision when they gave the GM position to Dean. He just hit the floor running and has quietly and professionally taken charge. Thanks for helping us find someone that seems to be the "perfect fit" for our Association.

Hello Julie:
I was in attendance at the OWCAM meeting that you spoke at in June. You were inspirational, and timely. I had been in my former position (portfolio management) for almost three years, and I was watching for positions opening up in the Portland area. I started a new position in July, working for Forest Heights as compliance coordinator. My salary has gone up and my stress has gone down! Your talk helped me to focus on the best aspects of association management and re-invigorate my job search.
Thank you for the energy and expertise you bring to your work. Have a fun and prosperous 2006!
